Canned Bacon ???

Now before you go and say, “meat in a can, that’s disgusting!” allow me to inform you that this is not just any meat, it actually looks pretty good. As described by the manufacturer:

Each can is 9 ounces of fully cooked and drained bacon. Between 2-3/4 and 3-1/4 pounds of raw bacon go into each can. Each can is the highest quality fresh #1 bacon slices. Cured to our specifications, cooked and then hand wrapped, rolled and packed in the U.S.

Sounds pretty good, and you will be thanking yourself for spending all of that hard earned money when you are eating delicious bacon whilst enduring a nuclear winter/zombie attack/meteorite strike/ etc. Uncanning after the jump.

Price: $12 per can, but just look at those pictures. [MRE Depot via Geekologie]

This has got to be the best fusions of tech we have seen in recent times. Jon wanted his RX-8 to be “live” and always connected and thus, he hooked his car with a low power PC equipped with 3G, GPS and created a password protected web server link. The result is that he can now connect to the link and use it to turn on/off the car’s ignition, lock/unlock the doors, open the boot and even transmit its exact location. Hit the play button to watch the cool demonstration.
